How to use
Sesame Seeds can be used raw or lightly toasted. To toast, place in a dry pan over a low heat, moving constantly for even cooking, till a light golden colour. They can be added to smoothies or sprinkled over cereal or yoghurt, salads, stir fries and hotpots. Use as a substitute for grains to ‘crumb’ patties, tempeh, fish and meat; or top savoury bakes and gratins. Sesame Seeds are an essential ingredient in the Middle Eastern spice mix Zaatar. Add sesame seeds to home-made muesli bars, crackers, cookies, muffins and bread mixes. These hulled sesame seeds are also delicious in raw food recipes. Grind them to make fresh Organic Tahini, a scrumptious paste to use as a spread or dip, in sauces and salad dressings, baked goods, energy balls and raw food treats.
